A community group, not an outside charity
TWA was formed by and for the community of Burao, in the heart of the Togdheer region. Our work is carried out by local volunteers and staff — from the people who distribute relief supplies door to door, to the teachers who run daily life at Tabantaabo.
What began as community support for orphaned and struggling families grew, from 2010 onward, into TWA's flagship programme — the Tabantaabo Orphans Girls School — alongside ongoing relief distribution and human rights work across Togdheer.
